Coto de Gomariz
The Flower and the Bee (La Flor y La Abeja) Ribeiro Tinto Sousón
Ok so this wine kicks ass. And honestly, that’s really all you need to know. It kicks ass, it’s delicious, and it’s a ton of fun.
A dark ruby color in the glass with a wide brim and brighter red tinges. A beautiful bouquet featuring big fruit after some time in the glass. Fresh red cherries and strawberries are primary with plums playing backup. Gets a bit stemmy which is fun and has some really nice vegetative aromas.
Souson is not a grape that you find very often in single varietal bottles but this clearly shows that it can stand on it’s own feet. Superb structure and balance here. This is a fun wine but it’s not frivolous. It’s well made and possesses a bit of heft. Give this time and it develops oh so nicely. A bit tingly and a nice shot of spice, as well. Oak and vivid red fruit initially on the tongue with black tea and dried herbs. Serve this chilled and it really delivers. If you see this, grab a few.

Bright, yellow-fruited wine with notes of honey suckle. Acidity is not so high, but it still paired really well with softer cheeses, particularly a manchego. Also complemented oysters really well! Great value
