Not as complex as a California Syrah. Nice body but the bouquet is bit coarse. It tastes immature.

Drank with steak and mashed potatoes. Delicious! Buttery, long finish.

The grapes of Copper Valley come from estate vineyards in Villa Alegre, 285 km south of Santiago in the Maule Valley of Chile. The soils are derived from volcanic ash and consist of sandy to sandy-loam earth. The temperate Mediterranean climate supplies plenty of sunshine and the vineyards are carefully managed to produce grapes that have amazingly concentrated flavor.

Copper Valley Syrah has an intense red-violet color with shades of blue. It has a prominent cherry liquor aroma with notes of strawberry jam and spices. Its tannins are ripe and soft and complemented by a rich and balanced acidity. It pairs well with pastas, herby dishes, ham and mature cheeses.
