This is a nicely balanced Zinfandel, not jammy but with a solid tannic structure. A big wine with less residual sugar than most Zins, the predominant favors are blackberry and blueberry, with a chewy bread like mouthfeel like some Bordeaux wines.

A worthy follow up effort, this Zinfandel is smooth drinking and restrained - no clumsy oak or jammy syrup here. Instead we have a beautiful wine that is all about the cherry and blueberry fruit, with a silky but non-cloying mouthfeel. Pour this as a cocktail wine for friends who think all California Zin tastes like blackberry jam - they will be converted very quickly!

Nicely balanced and not too sweet, it is a delight to see a new vintage of this superlative Zin. It has a medium body verging on big. Dark currant and mocha dominate but there is an extended cherry finish.
