Nose: Stewed cherries, Forrest floor, mushrooms , plums .
Improved with food. Enjoyed with onions stuffed with beef and mushrooms.

Palate: all of the above plus wood spice, tart black cherries, high acid, med + body, med + tannin.

Modern, easy to drink wine. A little softer (less robust, less body) but has a bit of a sweet, tangy finish. Maybe something exotic like a passion fruit is what it resembles best. Funniest part of this is that it’s a wine from “Montcuq” (pronounced “mon cul”)! 😂😂😂

Rustic; river water and stone fruits. Structured with unexpectedly bright finish.

Great introduction to French Malbec from Cahors! 5% Tannat contained within; obtained for around 9 at a While Foods special sale. Nose: nectarines, blackberries, and ripe jalapeño; combined to form garden funk. Palate: bright acidity well integrated with soft tannins, apple juice with bitter melon. Finish: short, earthy umami. Originally priced around 16$ and punches well above its weight. Could age well for another 5 years at least? But also ready for consumption now.
