Tangy and slightly sweet. Full bodied grape but sticks to the glass like a medium bodied wine. Light nose with fruity aromas.

Good for guests who are just starting to try reds. Not too bold

The teeth-staining purple '12 Clayhouse Malbec 'Red Cedar Vineyard' is slightly more compelling than the Zin Blend. A more complex nose of plum, earth, sarsaparilla and black cherry precedes the rich, chewy mouthful of dark fruit flavors. Straightforward finish that is juicy and smooth.

Grassy, ripe plum, and powerful alcoholic smell on the nose. Acidic, easy to swallow. But it is plain, too watery and lack of structure.
