Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Nice fresh nose of blueberries, cherries, black currants, oak, licorice, plums, sweet spice, earth, herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee and dark chocolates.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 22 year old, from the great 2000 vintage, is drinking very nicely now. Feels very young, and has a lot of years in it.
Nicely balanced with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Spicy and entertaining.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
I had it blind, and called it correctly including the Vintage, which only shows that it is very typical as one might expect it to be.
Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.
13% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
