Château Siran
Saint-Jacques de Siran Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
Occasionally, I gamble on 2nd, 3rd wines or even a Bordeaux Superior in grand Bordeaux vintages. Sometimes you find wines that out shine their price point. This is a bit less than I hoped for, yet still a nice wine at this age.
The Roasted, Rosemary Potatoes were best with Burgundy and the AB Ribcover best with the Bordeaux.
Always have two wines for your entree & sides . It’s always paid dividends for us.
She is; ripe w/ dark currants & earthy dirty. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum, plum, poached strawberries, raspberries, dry cranberries, Australian blue fruits, dry, crushed rocks, limestone, slightly moist clay, soft, dry tobacco, soft leather, dark, rich earth, leaves, dry river stones, black licorice core, fresh herbs-sage, saddlewood, graphite, brown volcanics, melted brown sugar, dark spices w/ heat nutmeg, cinnamon, vanillin, melted caramel, mocha powder, fresh; red, dark, blue & purple florals. The acidity marries the vintage. The finish is; ripe, rich, elegant, herbaceousness, earthy and spice driven on the long set.

Dec 20th, 2017Smooth wine with subtle flavor, more character than body. (Disclaimer: Maybe this is how Bordeaux wines should taste, I'm more used to stronger flavors like Zinfandel, Cabernet-Sauvignon, or Malbec. Closer to a Shiraz, but I am certainly not an expert. )

Jan 5th, 2024Very well rounded for a wine in this price range. Nice fruit and mouthfeel. Can probably age a few years too.

Apr 8th, 201840% Merlot, 36% Cabernet franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is red in color with a ruby rim. Raspberry, fresh blackberry, blueberry jam on the nose. Blackberry, cassis on the palate. Medium tannins, a bit off balance, but lacks connectedness. Soil: clay and limestone.
