Love this estate. Poor man’s Petrus. Not really but fun to say Plummy, earth and bittersweet cocoa on the nose. Really complex spices also develop with air. Gorgeous aromas. Really classy. Needs mega air to get going but it’s all there. Palate is rich and rile but with terrific freshness and purity. This is a backwards wine. I forgot how backwards when young a great Bordeaux can be. Superb concentration and easily the most elegant Samion ever. The finish is crazy long and detailed. With so much cassis and elegant tannins that are perfectly integrated with the fruit. This is superb.

This was a very pleasant surprise. I’m not a Bordeaux guy but this rocked. The brightness of the ripe red berry fruit on the nose was remarkable. Wonderful balance. I’m sorry I had only one bottle.

Minty nose, soil tones, plummy, cocoa, raspberry cake, very spice cakey and exotic. Love it. Palate is rich and ripe with nice opulence and good freshness. Bittersweet cocoa and loads of mineral on the finish. Big 2010 grip and tannins. But such sweet tannins. Very pure and nice balance.

A brilliant Samion. Leather, cassis, ashen nose. Ripe yet stunningly pure and detailed. Terrific freshness and precision. Opulent but then finishes with big acids.

Wine that keeps getting better every vintage. Lovely classic old school nose that has such precision. What a leap over the the 09 and 10. Bittersweet cocoa, kirsch, cassis, leather, mineral, touch of smoke but also intensely mineral. So mineral. Palate is profoundly juicy and complex with terrific structure and freshness. Rich cassis and black cherry fruit and hints of bitter chocolate. Ripe and juicy tannins and crazy concentration and power. Too young obviously but the best young Samion I've ever had. What a great wine.

Fall vibes here. In a great place. Bittersweet cocoa, cassis, red plum, stones, flowers. Great. Fresh and vibrant, with lovely deep fruit, but really impressive freshness. Shed some of its monolithic vibe since I've had it last. Balanced, super juicy and very pure. Age has done this well.

Project of Jean Claude Berrouet who made 40+ vintages of Petrus. Really lovely nose. Classic right bank. Plummy. Cocoa. Focused. Palate is ripe with terrific acidity out of the gates and lovely balance. Intense structure. A bit out of sorts out of the bottle but it is all there. Will be fun to track.
