Believe it or not, but the '86 Château Prieuré-Lichine Red Bordeaux Margaux was my spaghetti wine last night. A bright brick red, without significant sediment, it possessed the textbook old Bordeaux nose of tobacco, game, musky leather, some cassis and pencil shavings. The slight fruit aromas that were initially evident faded quickly. Not totally OTH, but definitely on the downslope. The finish was spicy smooth and quite lengthy. Still, the wine put a smile on my face.
