Château Perayne
Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
Very straightforward Bordeaux Supérieur. Pretty nose showing some oak. Fruit tastes Right Bank. Decent effort for the money.

Jan 21st, 2018An affordable 2009 Bordeaux! My second bottle of this. Much better after 2 days open. That clear browning look of aged wine. Thick swirling fruit oozing from every pore. That's been my experience with '09 France bottles so far. I don't get any green pepper or cedar zip--this feels right bank to me, and borderline flabby. Still enjoyable though, for the potency of the raspberry/strawberry fruit and the cohesiveness of the overall experience.

Apr 21st, 2016Deep brick red. Jammy strawberries and green pepper on the nose, with hints of savory herbs and wet leather.. a little alcoholy. Leggy. Not sure if the 13% listed on the bottle is quite correct. Nice bright acid on the palate! This could age a couple more years if you wanted. Tannins are present and chalky in nature, but nicely mellowed out making it easy drinking on its own. Overall cooked strawberry is what I'm left with, but there's a nice array of other flavors folded in, and wrapped in a food-friendly package.
