Nose has cherry, ripe blackberry, leather, strawberry jam, dried cranberry, ripe plum, dry leather and moist cigar.

Palate has blackcurrant jam, ripe plum, ripe strawberry, dried cherry, cedar sawdust with firm tannins and a long finish.

A notable improvement over our prior bottle a few years back.

Cork pulled for slow oxidation for 2H, then decanted 4H, more time appreciated. Drink now or hold until 2024-28.

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot & 10% Petit Verdot

Nose has leather, earthy strawberry, prune, cranberry and light cedar.
Palate has cherry-strawberry juice, tobacco, ripe plum, sweet flowers; soft tannins, so approachable! Drink up in the next few years, I do not believe this wine is for longer term aging, plus it's in a prime enjoyment window now!

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot & 10% Petit Verdot

We paired this with a beautiful sirlion, cooked in the sous vide bath then finished on the stove, accompanied by roasted beets with local goat chevre. The earthiness of the beets is always a wonderful pair to Bordeaux, IMO.

Ch. Leoville-Poyferre Dinner; 16 May 2017 at Chez Nous Bistro, Lee, MA

Wow, what a beauty for a 2014 St. Julien, a short decant and it's drinking great, don't think this is set up for the long haul, suggest drinking by 2019.
