Château Maubert
Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Artsy label. Don’t panic, it’s organic! Dark color. Smells of fruits and fruit molasses. Hint of funk. Flavors are tart and raw. Plenty dry. Tongue feels sponged off after a sip of it. Not much oak vanilla in there. Under-ripe berries and rhubarb come to mind. Natural wine style. It’s got a decent finish. A unique style for Bordeaux. Fresh. Zingy. Worthy of party just based on the pretty label alone.

Nov 1st, 2024A slightly aged hills of Bordeaux wine. Dark as night in the glass. Smells a bit funky. Stems and soils. Flavors are plummy and dry. It’s good enough. A bit of smoked meat at the end lol. Good for a week night. Taste of France

May 6th, 2023An organic Bordeaux red. And aged a bit too since it’s a ‘15. Just the slightest of rust on the red fleshed plum colored wine in the glass. Smells like French wine cellars maybe smell? (I’ve never been in one yet). Has a wet rocks underground and a cherry sauce element in there. Flavor is sleek and smooth. Hint of complexity in there. Good berry and cheese pastry. Plenty of bite from the tannins. A summer savory or fresh basil zing in the flavors. This is a pleasing everyday drinker from the big ole Bordeaux lands.
