My general approach of purchasing a value wine that can sit for a few years paid off with the '05 Chateau de Malbat. 05 was a stellar year for Bordeaux and I just decanted this bottle in 15. While predominantly a Merlot there is enough Cab to allow the bottle to age. Any harsh cut of the tannins is gone and all that is left is a smooth and soft blend that finishes quite nicely.
