Château Loudenne

Ruby with some rim variation / spicy red fruit: strawberry, raspberry, plum / graphite, wood, mellow tobacco on palate, almost clove / still showing well 9 years in

Jul 31st, 2020Slightly aged but still showing verve and tenacity. Keeps showing off its nose by changing every 15 minutes and surprising us. First by showing off its funky barnyard notes, then subsiding and showing off its red and black fruit, before finally settling on its vegetal qualities.
The palate is equally impressive. It's a well made Bordeaux, one that drinks higher than its priced.

Very nice ruby red Bordeaux, smooth, better after open for a while, 2011 vintage
