The 2010 La Violette has a well-defined bouquet with predominantly red fruit laced with scorched earth, leather and just a touch of cassis in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a grippy entry. This has fine backbone, perhaps a good deal of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Very expressive towards the finish and extremely persistent. A class act that is just beginning to show what it is capable of. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. (Neal Martin, Vinous, April 2020)

Dark chocolate, hints of dried herbs and autumn leaves. Good amount of acidity to keep it alive - drink now. Enjoyable and easy to drink.

The 2015 La Violette has a very comely bouquet with red berry fruit, leather, sage and black truffle
scents that are very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, and gentle grip. A rounded finish belies that
backbone. What a superb Pomerol - very convincing, modern in style, sleek and quite penetrating. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2019)

The 2014 La Violette put in quite a brilliant performance. It has a clean and precise bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, bay leaf and clove-like aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, very well balanced and price with a harmonious, poised and sustained finish. This is a very classy Pomerol although it will require several years in bottle. This is one to watch. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2018)

Fruit is just barely hanging on making the wine a little hard to enjoy for me. [update] our bottle opened up after about 2 hours and turned into a pretty pleasant wine. Score updates a bit.

Beautiful nose. Fully mature, elegant, feminine, floral. Hints of treacle and caramel

Barrel Sample. Wow, stunning wine here. Only 18 barrels made, will be hard to get but oh so worth it if you can. 94-96 points
