Excellent Bordeaux in the old, classic, muscular style - reminds me of the Bordeaux I started out on, a rarity these days even among chateaux I like. It's too bad La Tour Haut-Brion is no more, as this was also a value. The 2004 vintage has been known for awhile as one that's really in the zone for enjoying on the young side, but this one still has the structure to be packed with potential and frankly the flavors are also still on the youthful side. It's classic Graves, with blackberry fruit, road tar, and charcoal.

Lean, and a bit rustic, but nice. Guessed 02 St. Estephe
