Top Notes For
Jay Kline

Popped and poured, the 2016 Cornalin pores a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with gorgeous notes of red and black fruit: Maraschino cherry, plum, blackberry, purple flowers, spearmint, smoke, pine needles and crushed rocks. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose though the mint note is even more pronounced. This was a stunning pairing with a simple mushroom and saffron risotto with chicken thighs. Grazie Tim! Drink now through 2030.
