I had this with my gf next to a bottle of 2015. This had a stronger aroma of blackberries and plums, but there was more going on in the mouth and do the fruit was in the background. Tannins and acidity were more notable, along with cocoa, fatty meat, graphite, and charred wood. Although the two vintages are overall very similar, I gave this one an edge for complexity.
