Château de Hauterive
Chemin de Compostelle Cahors Malbec Blend
Cahors, Southwest France, France
Malbec Blend
Top Notes For
Blackberry, tart dark cherry, subtle black pepper, a licorice-y, star anise note, a bit of chalky soil, medium tannin. Very rewarding wine, great value. I've only had Argentinian malbecs up to this point, so it's interesting to experience the grape as grown in its country of origin. Based on this wine, the tannins seem a bit more robust, as opposed to taking more of a backseat in many Argentinian malbecs.
