This Fronsac is a deep, blackish ruby. Dark fruits rule the abundant nose which portends the dark, full-bodied palate of dark plum, cassis, and a thread of vanilla. Medium plus tannins. Medium acidity. Moderate finish. Almost New World in style (is that the “temptation?”), but the grapes can take it. A great intro to Bordeaux for the California-heavy novice. Drink now through 2022.

I really enjoyed this bottle. It’s not too light, but it’s not heavy. The flavor is smooth and slightly dry. Very drinkable from the start.
