Listrac-Médoc Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon

Not a huge fan. Some herbal tones, but mostly plums and oak. Strong tannins not quite balanced yet. Maybe should have paired it with a fatty steak but alas I did not.

Picked up a second bottle and didn't like it quite as much as the first one, but still in a great place. Surprised to find out that for left bank this is a 70/30 merlot cab blend, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the round and upfront fruit. High QPR, must buy if you see it.

This is delicious. Lacks some of the top end subtleties of its high end cousins and I but is really drinking well right now. I let it decent over an hour or two, drank well initially but started singing. Brambly berry, cedar, and a chalky minerality that's in harmony with the acidity. The place I bought it had a two left and I'm going back to get them. Big QPR for left bank Bordeaux.

Really excellent! Does have a little chalkiness at the finish but will pair with almost anything that's not too light.

Lamb shanks paired well.
