Nose is very fruity. Lots of blackberry on the nose. Wine is sweet but not in a bad way. Very drinkable at 12 years. No tannins present. Could do with a little more depth.

Dark ruby red, aromas of blackberry and cassis, with a fainter smoky note. In the mouth the wine shows good volume and balance, almost surprisingly sweet on the mid-palate, presumably the round Merlot element. When aerated in the mouth reactor style, the Cab character shows up, as do the tannins. This is as good as the 1996 Citran.
