Classic Old World style. A gorgeous ruby red in the glass. The Cap De Fer has a beautiful nose of tobacco and ripe red fruits. The palate follows the nose with really expressive tastes of the same. Plums and licorice really help to round out this very powerful wine. The acidity is balanced quite nicely and the tannins are soft and approachable. There's also just the right amount of spice which compliments the long, dry finish perfectly. Needs to be decanted for around an hour to really get to the real truth about this bottle, but when you do, you'll love it.
