Haven't had much Zin recently but this definitely brings back memories. First off, I appreciate that it's not overcooked. Ton of cocao and dark chocolate on the first sip. Nose is black cherry, a bit of cooked fruit. Also hints of Eucalyptus and nutmeg. Nice and open on the pallet. Ready to drink, tannins are nice and soft. Bit of mint and bruised plum on the finish.

A really nice California old vine Zin: almost sweet like a mixed berry pie to balance the robust scent. Surprisingly solid with a bowl of very spicy chili ramen - sips and slurps!

Mellow and slightly sweet aroma that yielded to a deep, dark, robust, almost smoky flavor: the kind of richness you would expect from a California Old Vine Zin. Exactly what I wanted with a spicy entree.
