Celler Malondro
Besllum Montsant Cariñena Garnacha
Purple/ brown in color with a brick/ orange rim.
On the nose, spices, vanilla, wood, black currants, sweet plums, sweet strawberries, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, vinaigrette and peppercorn.
Full-bodied with high acidity and long legs.
Dry on palate with plums, strawberries, raspberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, vegetables, vinaigrette, tobacco, cola, spices, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Spanish red is over its peak, but still drinkable. A little oxidized especially on the nose. Nice mouthfeel but not fully balanced.
A Good food wine, and drinkable all by itself, too.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Took a chance on this Besllum Montsant 2008 scored 93 by Robert Parker. 50% Carignan / 50% Garnacha. Nice to try a new varietal, but not as spectacular as I was expecting. #yegwine
