Repeat performance required! When I first met this Douro, it was over a passionless quick lunch. This time we met over a proper 2-hour lunch (plus or plus), and reflected against multiple courses with friends...the wine shared its appreciable secrets. Almost ink, sweat of alcohol, dried stewy strawberries (loaded), cranberry/apricot. Concentrated, almost sweet. A lingering scent of walnuts & coffee. Wood with a patina of tannins. "More is more" here, yet balanced in its extravagance.
