Les Merveilles being a Chardonnay cuvee made from Kimmeridgian soils, this cuvee is produced from the Viognier grape. 8 months ageing on the lees in French oak. This is a restrained cuvee but a very interesting one. Viognier in a very expressive way but miles away from the over opulent, extracted cuvee. Fresh, friendly and very elegant. Wood is not intrusive at all. Balanced. A very good discovery and one I would love to match with Rocamadour goat's cheese.
