A Secret Santa signed my brother-in-law and sister-in-law up for a wine club but apparently forgot that they don’t drink wine. Needless to say we perused the few cases of wine they had already accumulated to see if there were any goodies that needed a new home. I found none such goodies but my wife did claim this selection, and I must say it’s pretty good. The usual notes of ripe cherries surrounded in old world mustiness; old attic with spices and cherry pie.

This is the best $15 Bordeaux you'll find. 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc. Excellent with red meats and cheese. Delicate tannins but nice and dry. Not quite as full-bodied and deeply colored as some Bordeauxs but for the money, excellent.
