Les Nobles Rives St. Joseph Syrah
I admit this to be a bit young, but I wanted to try Syrah from St. Joseph, so I went for it. The nose is fairly fragrant; it shows lovely classic Northern Rhone Syrah characteristics such as the famed grilled meat juice smell, followed by provancal herbs, cran-pomm juice, and black pepper corn. The juice is dark purple in hue, low rim variation. The pallet exhibits dark black plum skin, under ripe blackberry, and cinnamon, finishing fairly tart and lean, and short.
I am confident that maybe in a few more years this will drink better, but as of now, it is extremely young, with sophomoric complexity. Side note: it is beginning to open up a little after some more time with good ol O2.

Purple/ruby color, Medium body, medium acidity, medium heavy tannin, cranberry, black pepper; would be a great pairing for a rich pork or pasta dish
