Castle Rock Winery
Mendocino County Rosé of Pinot Noir
Mendocino, North Coast, California, USAI know it Castle Rock, but this one was really good. The nose was clean and subtle. Honeysuckle, Violet, Rose, pear, Citrus, celery. Taste a full richness of honeyed strawberries and cream, apple, lemon, honeydew melon, with a bit of salt. It was pretty, it smelled of fragile garden flowers but it tasted like breakfast fruit. There is a zesty satisfying finish that makes it balanced and delicious.

Aug 21st, 2018Got this at Costco for a song and it's been worth every penny. An orange/peach/pink color this is rather fetching. The nose is simple, but pleasant: citrus, stone fruit, strawberry and wet rock. The palette delights with underripe strawberry, cherry blossom, cranberry and soft minerality. There is the quickest flitter of sweetness, lending even more balance to a very nice rose. Nice work, Castle Rock.
