Neat to try something new (my first Grignolino) but this was just OK. Light red, like a Tavel rose almost. The acid screams on this thing, and it needs food to be enjoyed at all. Mild fruit (sour cherry) and floral aromas / flavors are plain at best and the 14% alcohol is way too hot for what this is.

We should have known but obviously didn't recall the wine, know what we were drinking even though previous evaluations were same. Nothing like what was expected from this winery, Marchesi Incisa Della Rocchetta... more like a Rose, a summer wine, nothing like their Barbera D' Asti Valmorena, a fine Barbera. We didn't know what a Gringolino D' Asti was supposed to be...will not buy again, even in summer.
