Solid, great depth and purity without being heavy handed or over the top with the beastly structure Sagrantino can have. Muddled black berry, dried black cherry, leather, coffee grounds, tar and clove on the finish. Tannins are powerful and held in balance by the wines high acid. For $28 I’d drink this again for sure. Perfect for tomato braised meatballs, spaghetti squash, and seared mushrooms.
