Lovely warm and welcoming (Christmassy almost!) bouquet of cherries and a hint of undergrowth, with a lovely dark cherry red colour. Low acidity and soft tannins, giving a very nicely balanced flavour and smooth texture which works well with pasta dishes but is equally delicate enough to enjoy standalone. Very quaffable and available from waitrose, we have stocked up on this wine repeatedly - well worth its premium price versus the mass market offerings.

Love me an Amarone. Rich, sweet berries which coat your mouth. Delightful stuff. Perfect with Christmas lunch.
