Candido Francesco
Cappello di Prete Salento Rosso Negroamaro
Really enjoyed this Negromaro from a reputable producer in Candido. 13.5% Alcohol. More savoury and less fruity blackberry than the Primitivos we have been having. Medium bodied with medium tannins with an earthy leathery finish. Excellent food wine with the Wild Boar pasta.

Oct 22nd, 2017Colour: almost no transparency, dark red, ruby
Nose: intense bad of red and black fruit.. it's like being in a bush of raspberry and blackberries.. very fruity bouquet with nice spiciness of red pepper, rosemary and juniper. Nice old wood suggestions, not overwhelming and good integrated
Palate: good lively acidity and good tannic structure, quite smooth overall. Red fruit coming through, then nice spiciness not too much - mostly rosemary and red spices, with a bit of nice and mellow wood. Not too warm, good balance overall. Very nice.
