Strong narrative behind this wine - old vines, shot berries, biodynamics - but it wasn't showing well. What a pity! I suspect it might have been bottle shock (opened it a few days post arrival on our shores) and/or an early onset of oxidation. It really was an oddball, so no rating. Reticent when first opened, then it started developing this stinky sulphurous reduction over time, which never really blew away until oxidation took over. The palate started off quite pure, lemon curd with a saline mid-palate, but falls short in the finish. Textural. With air, baked apple and butter notes started appearing. Broadened up quite a bit, not like it was very precise to begin with. The next day - all fruit gone, replaced by classic oxidative notes.
