Aug 13th, 2018My wife looked at me after taking a few sips of our recently-opened Blaüfrankisch and said, “This is good, I just don’t think this is what I wanted tonight. I want a teeth-stainer.” I pulled this selection off of the rack to accommodate her, as I just received this from a SommSelect shipment.
Lots of rich vanilla and suave, oaky deliciousness. Definitely hit the spot for her with the chewy tannins. Mocha, baking spices, licorice, and dark chocolate on the nose with plump dark fruits. On the palate complex and expressive with blackberry jam/cobbler, Christmas spice cake, and coffee grounds. Solid stuff.
