A nose with qualities of the northern Rhone. Not your typical "classic" Rioja. Clean and precise nose with great intensity and complexity. The palate is lively and structured with great tension. Focused on just ripened black fruit, pepper, flowers, coffee and stoniness. Well balanced and a nice finish. This will be fun to see in 10 years.

If you can find this, and you dig Rioja based Tempranillo blends, get it. Brought as a starter and perhaps backup to bday grilled steak & eggplant dinner along with a @Rattalino 34 Barolo 2013. Well, the Barolo was tired…but this kicked 🫏. 30- mins open, blue black fruits and some garrigue on the nose echoed on the palate with bright acidity and body that reminded me of a fine Morgon, with a little extra zip.
Paired excellently with Rib-eyes that got the @Babbo rub( find that in the Babbo cookbook 👍) and other assorted fare. As my brand new son in law said “ that one is fire”🔥 Ha Ha.
Thanks

Outstanding. Maybe best value Rioja under $50.

Just like the “old days “. Lush Red, medium body balanced acidity.
