Located near Verona in the province of Veneto in northeast Italy. Bertani was founded in 1857 by brothers Gaetano and Giovan Battista Bertani. Deep intense Ruby with aromas of big jammy red berry fruit with sweet spices. On the palate cherry and blackberry, almost jammy with notes of cinnamon and licorice. Fine ripe tannins, well balanced on lingering finish ending with dried earthy spice notes. Wonderful.

Too dry. Either too old or too young. Not fine to drink. No soft tannins. Did not finish the bottle. Will wait 1 or 2 years and try then again. January 2019.

Wonderful bottle beautifully paired with our dinner at Tinello Restaurant. Great bouquet, easy to drink, with a bold fruits and berries.

JL Bertani Amarone tasting 12/7/17. Number 4. Selected grapes and aged six seven years. Nice nose of fruits and earth and spice and minerals and notes of iron. Medium body but feel both light and weight with long complex finish. Nice wine. $110.
