Améthyste Côte-Rôtie Syrah

Surly and reductive upon opening, smacking of leathery barnyard, but there is a sleeping giant below, emerging with notes of blackberry liqueur, black pepper, and smoke. Voluminous. Considerable upside with age (unless the Brett takes over), but for now, give it plenty of air.

A significant amount of Brett on the nose. The palate was not as overwhelmed but did not shine.
