This was such a delight! Anyone who wants Sauv Blanc, but wants something WAY MORE complex than New Zealand, you MUST try a Pouilly-Fumé. Somewhat due to the white film that grows on the skin of these grapes, and the soil composition, there is a prominent flint like smokey nose and pallet. The bouquet aside from that, was full of orange blossom, grapefruit skin, and nectarine. The pallet exhibits ruby red grapefruit, lemon zest and lemon meringue, and ginger root; all of this laced by generous, refreshing acidity, and a crisp finish. This bottle made me enjoy Sauvignon Blanc again.
