La Fogarina Lambrusco
Bought from Appellation Wine store inChelsea, which sadly had to close end of Aug. i never tire of dry Lambrusco. This one is very dry, excellent mousse, & enough cherry bitters in balance to firmly put it in the must-have-with-food camp. Apparently a rare wine varietal ((only ?) . I didnt experience it as salty, as #christinehoner did, but i think this does better a few tics above room temp, otherwise the bitterness (which I could imagine play as saltiness if cold) is too prominent. Small production, too.

Aug 11th, 2016Served this at a pairing class and the majority didn't like. I tasted afterwards and I think I understand- this wine is bizarre. I've never had a red that tasted so damn salty. I love salt, so in a way I kind of dig it, or at least I'm intrigued. I think. No, now I'm back to disliking it again. For what it's worth, it's making my crystalline aged Parmigiano taste mild.
