This is a beautiful red blend from Paso Robles. Big and bold and very fruity with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

This 5 year old is showing black and dried fruits coffee chocolates mocha peppercorn earth light vegetables pencil lead.

A blend of 50% Mourvedre and 50% Syrah. Peaking now.

Delicious and yummy.

I will say that the only drawback to this wine is the super over extraction, and very high alcohol.

Discount that, and you have a wine with emense depth! Smelled and tasted exactly like smoked brisket. Classic tell tales of Syrah, and some peppery herbaceousness from the Mouvedre.

Sweet dark cherry, cassis, violet liqueur, charcoal, dried herbs, vanilla.

Very dark thick color, with some decent acidity. The best way to describe the style is that it could easily be mistaken for Washington Syrah, and or Barossa Shiraz similar to Torbreck.

Overall I was quite impressed. I think this is the cool stuff coming from Paso. Excellent Cabernet is coming out of this region but Rhone/Spanish Varietals are what I am excited about. I would have rated this even higher if the grapes were harvested just a few days earlier.
