arcadia winery is based in the north-western part of Turkey, namely Kirklareli province on Thrace peninsula..Thrace peninsula which is a very small territory of Turkey landmass is lying on Europe continent..this area is a growing wine region; home to mass wine producers like kayra and doluca. over the last few years, a number of boutique wineries are also emerging including the names like arcadia, umurbey, chataeu nuzun, barbare and chamlija..among those, i like arcadia for its white wines ever since I have tasted them some years ago at Kanyon wine tasting days..their style is very european producing great white wines with zippy acidity, crisp and full of flavours, too...this blend of sauvignon blanc and narince 2011 vintage is an interesting one as narince (indigeneous grape) is usually not grown on thrace; however this blend delivers great aromas and taste for a very good price by Turkey standards...alcohol percentage is 12.8% percent and price tag says TRY 34..on the nose it is full of herbal notes and on the palate lively acidity is balanced well with hints of honeyed flavours very unusual for a s.blanc dominated blend, I guess narince is stealing the show a bit...an outstanding wine among all turkish whites I have tasted in the last 6 months; highly recommended
