Tasting at Beychevelle. Second label from 15 year old vines. Composition is 44 % cab , 42% merlot, 9% cab franc and 5% petit verdot. Taste composed of mixed dark and red fruit. It’s quite jammy, with hints of vanilla. It has a prevalent spicy finish but it compliments the red fruit quite well, and isn’t over powering. Smooth tannins and finish without any overt acidity. Hints of smoke. For a second growth it’s great!
