You know what I recently did? I cracked into some red and put on a cheesy romantic movie on Netflix. I was in one of those moods. Anyone else do that? If that’s a yes, let me know your Netflix recommendations for this genre 😉

The movie in question was Letters to Juliet with Amanda Seyfried and previous Home & Away star, Christopher Egan. Parts of the movie were set in Italy, so I thought this Altero 2018 Montepulciano from SA’s Fleurieu Peninsula would be a fine accompaniment 👌

Montepulciano is an Italian red wine grape and winemaker Mike Farmilo has created a delicious Aussie made one right here. It’s available exclusively from Cellarmasters from $15 a bottle 🙌

A big thanks to Cellarmasters for posting me over this sample bottle.

In the glass it’s a rich red, garnet silk colour. After giving it a whiff, it makes me think of red and black cherries alongside chocolate mocha and a hint of tar. While in the mouth I find it berry-filled with hints of dried herbs and a fresh clean finish.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
