Doña Margarita Vineyard Pinot Noir

Awesome newcomer to the WSCV family, Alma Fria's 2012 Doña Margarita Pinot stole the hearts (nee palates) of State Bird Provisions, Rich Table & Bar Tartine chefs in the #wowsebastopol Evolution of Cali Cuisine & Wine seminar.

I've tasted this vineyard before from Marimar Estate and have felt significant differences in style, Marimar feels like it has more body, mature red fruits and sweet spices with a wonderful long finish. Alma Fria style which is also fantastic, expresses more like a mix of Fresh and Hints of mature red fruits mixed also with sweet spices and a wonderful long balanced mineral finish. I would like to retaste both Wines again later this year.

Very expressive floral and wild forest aromas, along with layers of red and black fruits, redwood spice and hints of cola. Intense palate of black cherries, strawberries, spice, edgy acidity and supple tannin. Long, persistent finish.

Seductively scented with utmost fluidity of motion.

Young. Good density and minerality, but still plenty of fruit. Fragrant wine

I want that, like pancakes on Sunday morning, silky and supple . I wish more Cali wines were like this.
