Graves Red Bordeaux Blend
Sauv Blanc-Semillon blend. Rich tropical fruit with excellent acid structure. Beaming minerality. Very well done. Appears to have a touch of oak.

Dec 14th, 2014Softer fruit and more approachable now than the St. Emilion from same producer. Great acid fruit balance with big, but soft, tannins. Delivers Cabernet's currant punch with less earthy notes than usual Bordeaux's.

Sep 14th, 2014Last time I tried this was a year and a half ago. At that time I remembered a wine that was a bit out of balance and harshly acidic. Time has done this well. This is an earthy and brambly kind of wine. Black licorice and still a hint of sweeter black dehydrated fruits up front. Middle hasorenof a tar and black tea note. Finishes with tannin nicely integrated. A tiny bit of acidity throughout. Not a ton of experience with this producer or this offering but I would imagine this is at peak..no idea how long it will STAY here, but I don't think this one will do you any favors just sitting in the cellar. Nice offering from Claude.

Feb 6th, 2019This is the 2014 Graves White Blend. The wine has the grip to power through yet somehow still complement Mediterranean spiced chicken soup. This wine pours a light straw color in the glass. Nose is a bit of lime and lemon, limestone, and a nondescript herb. Entry is more of an extension of the nose. The middle was where acidity built and more lemon and lime zest finished this one out. Always seemed to have a nice acidity and medium weight and density. The wine went well with spiced chicken but surprisingly went better with the Andes mint I had after dinner where a lime crème Brulee kind of finish showed up. Completely unexpected!

Jul 6th, 2017Nice little Graves Red enjoyed tonight! Has a great red berry nose and palate. Nice acidity that went very well with pizza. Great balance and structure to this wine. Nice red fruit and a hint of earth. The finish was darker berry, a hint of licorice. Wife killed the only bottle I had allocated to the houee, so I hope the wine storage bottle makes it out alive!! I really think 2 or 3 years in bottle would help this one out tremendously.
