A surprising richness with sour black cherry and baked strawberry. For having a little age it is still young. At first smell purple flowers and herbs de provenance come flying out of the glass.

Not a chance of mistaking this for anything other then a California Pinot. It's gummy and fruit forward, a nose of black fruit that can almost knock you over. A solid tannic base, that I'd be really curious to know how this develops after another ten years - something this wine will likely have no problem with, which is impressive. It's delicious, and yet... just a bit too gummy, and a bit too obvious.
