First wine from 4G's 2012 vintage. Tasted at winery. This is an absolutely gorgeous blend of Syrah, Cab Sav and PV and one of the most memorable wines I've ever tasted. Only 3,745 bottles produced. This wine has it all for me: huge gorgeous aromas of dark fruit, leather, black tea, underbrush. Mouthfeel is rich and velvety, taste is complex and harmonious blend of the aromatic notes above. So much depth. Masculine but refined and entirely in control. Finish is long and reminds me of the fade-out at the end of a favorite song that you want to play on loop. Approachable today but will age beautifully. No one seems to know about this producer yet but it is destined for greatness. I only wish the price tag was more accessible.
