#okwn

Chateau St. Jean

Reserve Sonoma County Merlot 1999

#OKWN 3. From magnum. This. Was. Awesome. Also Bordeaux-like. Lots of mushroom, forest floor and dark chocolate notes. Some hints of tobacco on the finish. Big, complex, impressively structured. Also not even close to the end of its life. Just hitting it's prime. This was one of those experiences you don't want to end. — 7 years ago

Chateau St. Jean

Reserve Sonoma County Merlot 2000

#OKWN 2. From magnum. Massive legs. Built like a Bordeaux. Lots of Tobacco, blackberry and mushroom, with dark chocolate on the finish. Lush, supple and velvety. I was in the minority but thought this outscored the '08. On the downside, this needs to be consumed now. — 7 years ago

Chateau St. Jean

Reserve Sonoma County Merlot 2008

#OKWN 1. From magnum. Smoky nose. Black cherry and eucalyptus on the palate. Developed a loamy finish after opening for an hour. Rich, if not unctuous. Has miles to go. — 7 years ago
